Introduction

Greetings open every conversation. They help you feel friendly, polite, and ready to talk to anyone — at school, at work, or while traveling.

1Part 1

A greeting is a short, friendly way to say hello to another person. People around the world use greetings every day to begin a conversation. A simple 'Hello' or 'Hi' can make someone feel welcomed and respected. Greetings are usually followed by a smile and eye contact, which shows kindness and confidence.

2Part 2

After a greeting, we often introduce ourselves. An introduction tells the other person your name and a small detail about you, such as where you come from. You will use introductions in school when meeting classmates, at work when meeting new co-workers, while traveling to make new friends, or in any place where people don't know you yet.
